Terrorism and US Department of State
The impact of terrorism and the U.S. Department of State involvement as a result help to create a safer world for U.S. citizens.
Is Terrorism a Problem?
While it might be almost 10 years since 9/11, people are still freaking out about terrorism. Is this a good idea? Well, if it means that we’re safer, then yes, freaking out is the appropriate response. But if you’ve ever stood in an airport security line behind a bunch of people who forgot to put on socks, then you know that terrorism control is a pain in the butt. Sure, terrorism is a problem, but most of the security concerns are being handled far away from us – thank goodness. Sure, people are trying to get into the country and they’re trying to harm us, but this doesn’t mean that it’s something we worry about now – that’s for Hillary and her team to handle.
Handling Terrorists Inside and Outside
The Department of State is the department which works with monitoring how terrorism levels are changing in the world. By looking at the way tourists and perceived in the world, and how the United States as a whole is being seen, then that can help to indicate whether we are at risk for a terrorist attack. If not, great. By trying to smooth over the feelings of others countries, then we can begin to keep things a little safer.
Who is the Terrorist?
Now, just because there may have been a lot of publicity about certain areas of the world having more terrorists, this doesn’t mean it’s the truth. Anyone can be a terrorist, and sometimes without knowing it, so that’s why the defense trade controls need to be in place. By making sure that defensive resources aren’t being used for naughty reasons, then we can all rest a little easier at night. And during the day.
